Meet Dr. Joy

Dr. Joy Magtanong-Madrid received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. Dreaming about being a dentist since the age of seven, she graduated from Pacific with high honors. She has received accolades and awards for clinical excellence, academic scholarship, leadership, ethics, community service, and has been inducted into  the top dental honor societies.

Joy has taught at Pacific for four years, provides faculty guidance during student community outreach programs, and is a member of the Community Dental Health Committee for the San Francisco Dental Society. She also active in volunteering locally and internationally to provide dental care to those in need. Prior to joining Better Living Through Dentistry, Joy practiced in Martinez and South San Francisco.

Originally from San Diego, she has lived in San Francisco for the last nine years and calls it her home with her husband Fred, two year old son Toby, and her newborn daughter Adaleah. Joy enjoys spending time with her family at the park and the SF Zoo, and reading chick flick novels because life can't be all Sesame Street and Curious George books all the time.
